South starts the bidding with 1♥, West overcalls 1♠, North responds 2♣ (4+ clubs, 1o+ points) and East raises their partner’s overcall to 2♠, presumably on the level of the fit. South rebids 3♣ which represents a 5+:4+ shape and a minimum opener and this bid ends the bidding! Neither East nor West can bid to 3♠ which would suggest they have exactly an 8 card fit, and North does not want to bid on beyond South’s non-forcing bid as they have a minimum for their original 2 level response. East leads a small spade to your minor suit partscore – what’s the plan?
